The wheeles were in need of repair so Nancy and Brian Zorena took them to the Amish Witmer Coach Shop in New Holland, Pennsylvania. The Witmer Coach Shop was recommended by Dave Knecht, who has been doing business with the Amish for many years.
Jennifer and Ashley

Ed and Marcia Coffey picked up the repaired wheels and their grandaughter, Jennifer and her friend, Ashley painted them. The wheels were expertly restored and are now in place on this circa 1880 wagon.

On June 9, with the help of Myron Wininger, Tony Majewski, Paul Liscio, Ed Coffey and Brian Zorena, we moved the mail wagon back to the Post Office.

The Mail Wagon was donated by the late Donald Burr and his mother, Louise Burr of Purdy Hill Road, longtime members of the Monroe Historical Society.

We would like to thank Bernie Sippin for his generous gift to pay for the restoration of the wheels. We appreciate his reaching out to the Society to drfray the cost of this important project.
Dedicated to the Memory of Donald Burr
