The Monroe Historical Society strongly supports the work of volunteers in the Society's many functions. By appropriately utilizing resources available in the community, the service of volunteers enables the Society to enrich and extend its programs and projects. The volunteers of The Monroe Historical Society give their time and talent to these areas:
Supervisors in the various departments of The Monroe Historical Society who enlist the support of volunteers accept the responsibility of leading and directing those volunteers in the same manner used for directing all of its members. The success of our volunteer program depends on the enthusiastic support and cooperation of all Monroe Historical Society's members. The Monroe Historical Society recruits and places all volunteers, evaluates the volunteer program and maintains records of time donated. Volunteers are appropriately placed, taking into consideration their interests and abilities, along with the needs of the Society. Service opportunities are varied and extend throughout most of the Monroe Historical Society. The volunteers of The Monroe Historical Society are an integral part of "preserving our heritage and the spirit of a people." The contributions made by our volunteers enhance educational, cultural and social events, which encourage an insight into our history. If you have time or talent you would like to share, come join us.
