House Tour
Beardsley House in Snow

From Nancy Zorena, President, Monroe Historical Society Well, what can I say but we are very proud of the spectacular house tour last. Our home owners pulled out all the stops to make our house tour the most wonderful one ever! Karen and Julie were right - it had to be at night and it had to be a Christmas house tour! Thank you everyone for all the help to make this 50th anniversary celebration Christmas house tour awesome! We had people (over 160!) from New York, Greenwich, Stamford, Wilton, Newtown, Oxford, Easton, and Trumbull, Monroe and beyond. We have at least 4 homes offered for next year's Christmas House Tour so it looks like it may happen again! It was fitting that this year, our 50th anniverary year, we had so many vintage homes that spanned 3 centuries!

We especially want to thank the people that attended the evenings festivities and hope they enjoyed themselves as much as we did.

We are having the roof replaced at the Meetinghouse and on the Beardsley House we have had sills replaced, installed new basement windows, reinforced the basement door, built a new attic window and are working on a gutter system to keep water from the basement. With all of our fund raising efforts, membership dues and gifts as well as the Carstenson grant, we are able to make repairs.

Financial Notes
Thanks to everyone's hard work and to the donations we received throughout the year, we raised over $5000 with our two Christmas events. This money is already being put to work as we have a new roof put on the Meetinghouse and at the Beardsley House we have replaced window sills, installed new basement windows, reinforced the basement door, built a new attic window and are considering a proposal for a gutter system to keep water from the basement.
